Resveratrol Dosage: How Much Should I Take?

Determining how much resveratrol to take is not an easy task!

You have made the decision to try Resveratrol but are completey unsure how much you should consume. The answer to this question is not a direct one.

The trouble with deciding on 100mg, 500mg, 1000mg, or more is there have not been enough studies completed to tell us for sure which is right. Some say you only need 50-100 milligrams, while others believe 1.5 grams or more is needed. So you can see it isn't a question easily answered.

An approach I like is building your intake slowly:

- Start by taking the smallest dose available. Since you are introducing a new substance to your body there is no need to rush it. Give your system a chance to get used to it or tell you it's not liking what you are doing.

- If all goes well, after about a month try increasing your dose. Now don't go from 50mg to 1 gram over night. Take it slow, there is no rush!

- Make sure you are very aware of your body and mind. If you notice changes, write them down. Are they good changes or bad? You have to make the best decision possible and only you can determine what is right. Listen to your body.

Another approach is dependent on the type of resveratrol you are taking:

- Regular 50% resveratrol: Take a maximum of 1000mg per 50lbs of body weight.

- Regular 98% Resveratrol or better: Take a maximum of 500mg per 50lbs of body weight.

- Micronized Resveratrol: Take a maximum of 500mg per 100lbs of body weight.

- Advanced Absorption Resveratrol: Take a maximum of 500mg per day.

It is important to remember these recommendations have not been evaluated by the FDA or researchers. Over time we can only hope concrete evidence will be available to determine scientifically what the proper dosage should be.
